Cloud

Remember when pricing for "Cloud" (no matter which cloud): Pricing may include: CPU, Memory, HD (Data Storage), External Networking and Internal Networking, and electricity surcharges.

Of course not all cloud providers charge in all categories, and not all disclose in an easily-discernable fashion what all charges will be in all categories. Installing Vicidial from the Vicibox.com .iso installer (aka: install cd) is best. If this is not a possibility because the cloud provider does not allow custom .iso installs, then pricing for installation doubles at a minimum. OpenSuSE, CentOS and Ubuntu all have viable manual ("scratch") installation methods: however the compatibility and stability of those installs is not guaranteed. Vicibox has a 99% install success rate.

  • CPU: Minimum 4 cores required. Usually the most expensive number. Note that vCPU are virtual and will not work for Vicidial reliably. Instability is a business killer in a Call Center.
  • Memory: Minimum 2G. Recommended 8G.
  • Hard Drive: Minimum 30G storage. Recommended 150G (or 1T-2T if recording calls).
  • Networking: Depends on number of Live Simultaneous Calls. Note that there may be limitations and charge for both "immediate" and "monthly" bandwidth. We find that most call centers with less than 25 live agents (no robodialing!) require 5M upload and 5M download at most. This is the Immediate number, the cumulative number is only for billing and not relevant to operations.
  • Electricity: Some cloud centers charge extra for electricity in ways that are not easily discernible. Be sure to check the fine print as this can add 15-25% to your invoice.
